From a socio-philosophical perspective, this article examines the role of fiction in improving the social responsibility of student youth in New Uzbekistan. It substantiates the position that social responsibility is not limited to external compliance with social norms, but is also an internal value-based personal quality associated with awareness of the consequences of one’s actions, readiness to consider the interests of others, and willingness to participate in solving socially significant problems. Particular attention is paid to fiction as a form of spiritual and cultural understanding of social reality. The article reveals the mechanisms through which fiction influences value consciousness, moral choice, empathy, critical thinking, and students’ civic activity. It also considers the possibilities of using literary heritage in the context of implementing the Uzbekistan–2030 Strategy and forming the younger generation of New Uzbekistan
